Getting started with APRS Reply
by KG6NIE on April 2, 2008 Mail this to a friend!
Hi, I just bought a Kenwood D710 and I want to get started with APRS. I would like to possibly use my laptop and home computer for this (laptop is an HP running windows XP, home computer runs XP also). What software would I need? I was also wondering if those small USB GPS units that plug in to the computer and interface with Microsoft streets and trips (and other similar programs) will work with the D710 through the computer. Any suggestions? Thanks -Ken

Check out the Byonics website (www.byonics.com) They have some nice inexpensive GPS units and cables that work really well.
