Yaesu FT 2800 used for APRS? Reply
by K9YS on April 17, 2008 Mail this to a friend!
I am considering a FT 2800 for APRS mainly just to get the extra power. I don't want to use the mic and spkr jacks to hook to the TNC- I read there is some type of jack/connector inside the unit? Has anyone used this 2meter rig for APRS? and how did you hook it up- Thank you and 73- Mike, K9YS

Sorry to tell you that the only way to interface a TNC for APRS is via the mike and speaker jacks. This is a bare-bones rig.

I also have a 2800M and am getting an OpenTracker1+. If anyone have used the same setup, please share your suggestions and idea. Thanks.
