Hello, we are the guys who broadcast the live video of our drive and hamvention on the internet. I had aprs working a few days ago with a yaesue ft1500 and tiny tracker3. well we leave for dayton in 2 days and it wont work. Tried everything. We have the google map on our web page that shows our position (aprs.fi)
its too late in the game to fix this. Is there a way to just manually enter the lat and long in aprs.fi from our laptop? we will have internet connection from the car as we use that to transmit the video and chat room.

thanks, Tom W5kub

Since you already have a GPS and APRS.FI, why not just connect the GPS to your laptop. With the internet connection it will up-date and post your location. I use my laptop and GPS to do this when I'm traveling and staying at a location that has WiFi rather than leaving the car set-up on.

Thanks Lindy for the note. I thought about that and it would be reliable (not having to worry about being in range of a digipeater. how do you get it into aprs.fi? the laptop will have an internet connection. you must have to at least point some program to aprs.fi or an ip address. What software are you using that does that? btw, after 14 hours found my problem. The gateway between the digipeater and the internet was down. not my problem at all.

Tom,
There are several good programs. I use UI-View32 which is very easy to use. Station, Igate, GPS or manual entry is very straight forward. It will take your station info to the internet and you can use the message function, email, winlink and more. Have fun.
