Been using a Magellan GPS with NMEA 183 ouput to send data packets to my Kenwood THD7A(G) handheld radio for tracking my position via APRS. It's been working flawlessly.
Now I have received a PN-40 as a wonderful gift this Christmas. It's a fantastic GPS receiver, etc. However, it does not seem to provide NMEA 183 formatted output via a serial (9 pin) connector.
A couple of posts on Delorme Forums indicated that a serial cable is available from Delorme and will provide the NMEA 183 output. Hopefully this is true and I can purchase the cable and make the connection to my THD7AG.
Seems like I also need to configure the PN-40 to output the NMEA formatted packets. Any help with that?
