KPC3+ digi and WIDE1-1 Reply
by VA3DXV on March 18, 2009 Mail this to a friend!
I just put a digi on the air at my QTH and it's not responding the way I think it should. I have a setting wrong somewhere but I can't seem to nail it down. The KPC3+ is v9.1.

Problem is this, it's digipeating packets I don't want it to be (such as those destined for WIDE2), but even when it does this, they get ignored so I can't be sure that WIDE1 packets will be heard when sent.

DIGIA>APNU19,WIDE2-1: blahblah
DIGIA>APNU19,MYDIGI-1,WIDE2*: blahblah
DIGIA>APNU19,DIGIB,WIDE2*: blahblah

Now just to see if I am on the right page, if I was being heard, DIGIB should never have repeated that packet, correct? I know DIGIB hears me because I get his packets directly, and he digipeats my beacons... so no problem over RF path... it also seems to wait till my packet is done before it repeats. Regardless, I have uidigi and myalias set to WIDE1-1 so I shouldn't even be repeating WIDE2 packets...

Next is this:

MOBILE-9>TU3T9Y,WIDE1-1,WIDE2-2: blah
(received packet directly... I digipeat it as follows)
MOBILE-9>TU3T9Y,MYDIGI-1*,WIDE2-2: blah

And no other digi repeats it for some reason? 95% of the digipeaters in my area are on the "new paradigm" setup, and I'm trying to follow that. Here's my display file: http://www.ve3rix.ca/va3dxvkpc3display.txt
Any help at all is greatly appreciated.
