Hello All,
I understand what is shown on the display, but how does one report the position of a voice repeater to the APRS system in the first place?
I have a few repeaters I would like to report, but can't figure out the best way to get it done.
Thanks in advance!
Jeff

in your APRS software there should be a way to add objects. I think it can be done from openaprs.net too. I don't have my ui-view program in front of me and they don't all use the same menu commands.

Theres a format used to report repeaters as objects, and theres also a way to do it where the D710 lets their users auto tune to the frequency with one or two button pushes which is nice.
Go to findu.com, or openaprs and look at a large metro area, You will see the format used and can easily duplicate it for your local repeater frequencies. I would limit the number of objects sent as this greatly increases the packet traffic in your area. As an example, I beacon myself, and two repeaters only. One repeater is mine, and another one that is not mine.
As a suggestion, contact the repeater owner. Many repeater controllers offer a way to program the repeater to beacon itself.
