Hello, I am having a problem transmitting my location on aprs with tinytrak 3plus, and a kenwood v71a. I programmed the chip with my call sign, and installed in my car. The led's are lighting correctly.

After 120 sec, the xmit led will light for a second, then go out. Carrier led was off before xmit. Not triggering the xmitter in the kenwood. I adjusted the two pots and tried jumping R5, no change.

I did notice this.. If I unplug the serial cable going to the radio and plug it back in (from the TT3), the radio will trigger and transmit my info, but xmitter ramains transmitting until radio is turned off.

I am running on 5 watts and the antenna is a magmount on the back roof (on a 4-runner). Radio installed in front of car. So I dont think Im gettin too much feedback, but I wanted to check with everyone first.

The TT3 was purchased pre-build with the cable M3C.

Any info would help, as I am really new into electonics and my ham license (about a year ago).

Thank you all,
Tommy KE5YUU

How is the TT3+ connected to the rig?

Is R8 installed? If it came preassembled it probably is. You'll need to clip R8 for the PTT to work.
