TM-D700a wireless APRS. Can I do this? Reply

I have the Kenwood, a Bluetooth enabled GPS and an Axim 50v PocketPC

What I would like to do is have no wires except for the power cord, and use my Axim like one would a PC.

Possible?

The GPS can talk to the PC via Bluetooth. The PC to radio connection requires a serial cable. Not a 'wireless' scenario.

Well maybe.

As Dennis has said the PC to radio is a serial connection and ordinarily needs a serial cable.

But it looks like there are now Bluetooth "serial cable replacement devices" available.

I have never used any of these so cannot comment on effeciveness nor do have any idea of cost. But here is link:

Googling "bluetooth serial adapters" will get you more results.

You may need two of them, or maybe not. If you could get one of these devices plugged into your radio, and get it communicating with your GPS via the GPS built-in bluetooh, you may be able to take the Axim out of the loop altogther.

Actually it sounds like an interesting project.
