Is anyone using the GPS "Hockey Puck" receiver that comes with the Microsoft Streets and Trips bundle?
It has a USB Connector and I would like to use it with the OpenTracker (serial connection). Any help is most appreciated.
Best regards,

I don't know what comes with that particular GPS receiver, but most include a driver that can be loaded to turn the USB connection into a virtual com port. Then it will interface with any software by setting the software to use that com port.
If you have a mfg on the GPS receiver you may be able to find drivers on their web site.

A USB to serial port converter isn't going to work with the OpenTracker since there is no way to load the drivers for the converter to work. The other question would be does the "Hockey Puck" output the GPS data in NMEA format?
I would suggest you find a GPS with a serial connection. I just purchased a GPS engine off of eBay for $25 with shipping that works great with my TinyTrak3 and I'm sure it would work great with an OpenTracker. Just do a search for NMEA OEM GPS and it will come up. The seller is mjc312. I have no connction to mjc312, just a satisfied customer.
