Drake L4-B Parts Values -- RFC3 Reply
by WB8LRL on October 27, 2009 Mail this to a friend!
Don't know how it happened, but I seem to have blown out one of the RF chokes on the PA grid. RFC-3 now has an open circuit resistance vs. the 2.5 Ohms that I think it should have... It looks like about a 2.5 mH Hammond 3-Pi choke, but I hope to hear from someone about the exact value.

Are there any tabulations for the L4-B that give all parts values?

Thanks in advance,
Dave WB8LRL

Dave, I have some that are out of SB-220 amps that will work fine, get 2 from me and change them both or else measure the UH I might have a direct replacement

Thanks for the tip. Heathkit lists it at 1 mH. The filter cap in the L4-B is also 200 pF. Makes sense... I'd be happy to get a pair from you.

Now I realize who you are... Should I contact you through your web site?

Value is not stated in the Drake L-4B parts list of Februarty 1971. Just a grid choke, cost 60c each.
