i have a 811 amp{600 watt}.looking to replace the orig 811 tubes with something better,without mods. i heard 572b?? any suggestions?and where is the best place to get them?rf parts?? brent

I bought a pair of 572B for my SB-200 from http://stores.shop.ebay.com/qMall__W0QQ_armrsZ1QQ_fsubZ7152201 They worked FB. Cheap too.

RF Parts is usually the place to buy tubes from. But no matter where you buy them from you are most likely to get chinese tubes. Chinese tubes work, but I have had a few fail. One of them took out the fuse and grid resistor in my AL811H. The others have had their anode caps come off.

thanks. ive looked at rf parts,and also here in canada we have the tube store. i was looking for either taylor or cetron tubes. i heard the chinese ones are hit n miss.is there any other big dealers in us made tubes for the 811 series amp??

I just bought some 572s from RF Parts. There was a mixup and they sent me 3 811s instead. I called them and 3 minutes and several questions later, they sent me 3 new 572s via 2nd day air and a return label for the 811s. I am pleased with the tubes and very pleased with the service. Everyone makes mistakes, it's how you deal with them that matters. I could've bought the tubes cheaper on Ebay but I doubt that I could've returned at all much less at the sellers expense.

are those 572bs the chinese ones?? or taylors?that you bought at rf parts. brent

I believe the only 811s and 572s available are Chinese. They are Taylor branded but they're Chinese.

so are the ones that you got labelled taylor?or are they the chinese ones? im curious as i want to buy a spare set. is it worth paying extra for the taylor,or just go chinese cheap. brent

They are labeled Taylor but I understand that RF Parts buys Chinese tubes and prints Taylor on them as no one else manufactures them anymore.
