The AL84 keying circuit is rated at 12V at 100mA. Will the 756PRO's keying circuit safely handle this? I have seen conflicting reports on the rigs capability. I have keyed the amp direct with a TS2000 without issue so I don't see the PRO posing a problem. Just want to confirm.

It'll handle it just fine.
You might check to be sure the relay coil in the amp has a "kickback" diode installed across it, though. This ten-cent addition (if it hasn't one) can save a lot of problems.

Spend $2.50 for a Radio Shack reed relay to use as a buffer circuit and never worry again. The Icom idea of a amp keying circuit is a joke. The $2.50 reed relay will save you a lot of money and work should the Icom fail. I went thru 2 keying problems with my original IC756.
