Folks,
Sorry, but I do not have any more switches for these amps. Please don't phone me regarding these switches -- Sorry, but I don't have time to take these calls. If I (ever) have any more made, I will make an announcement to that fact.
Thanks & good luck,
Don

Hi Michael !!!
Thank you for your answer.
I send my first e-mail to Don and a spanish friend send me some pics the Don's Switches, it is a shame that does not make these band switches, because really it's a fine job finished and very high quality.
I hope that Don making some more in the future, anyway I have to wait for some good news about this matter. ;)
Michael, Don Thanks a lot ! for your attentions, you are very kind.

Edu,
I was a long shot. Don has done hundreds of repair and conversions on the TL-922. I first met him at Dayton in 2001. He is a very fine engineer but he has taken over the engineering and production of Pulstar/Commander amplifiers and I imagine he no longer has time or material for the older Kenwoods.
You might want to consider other band switch from: http://www.multi-tech-industries.com/ like a model 80. You would need a 6 pole. 4 wafer rotorary switch with 30 degrees between positions. I believe multi-tech-industries might have a replacement. It might require some adoption to make it work.
Putting in the band switch will be no easy chore. The last switch I replaced took me just about a whole day to unsolder all the input networks and tank coils and padder capacitors and to reassemble them again.
The component placements inside the amplifier is very tight. Often these assemblies are assembled outside the amplifier and then installed into the amplifier as a sub assembly.
A friend of mine swears the band switch on amplifier is assembled first and then the amplifier is built around the band switch.
Good Luck

Edu,
One other thought. You might contact these Kenwood parts distributers and see if they have an old band switch lying around.

At this point, if you find an exact replacement you are going to be very lucky. The Kenwood amp uses a 30 degree indexing switch where as most amps use a 20 degree index switch.
Most band switches are more or less similiar as far as contact arrangement. A typical band switch has one wafer for the output pi network with one or two sets of progressive shorting contacts. These types of switches do the work of a 2 or 3 wafer single contact rotary switch which is why they are popular.
If you don't find an exact replacement, I think if you look at the front panel of current amps you will be able to tell the indexing from the band switch markings. If it is 30 degrees, download the manual, and see if the switch is similiar to what you have, and buy it if you think its close enough.
