Clipperton-L Tuned Input Reply
by W4MWK on February 12, 2006 Mail this to a friend!
Hello All,
I'm in search of a Tuned Input for my Dentron Clipperton-L Amp, I'd like to find it or a copy of the Owner Operator Manual and a set of Schematics for it, Or a project for a homebrew Tuned Input.
I'm also looking for the 8 Caps to replace the ones in it, I can't seem to find them on the web, one is bad and I figured it would be best to replace them all, The info is listed below as written on the cap.
Thanks,
73s

The manual can be downloaded at

http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/dentron/clipl/

www.harbachelectronics.com has suitable capacitors or try Mouser Electronics. Probably 450 volt jobs which should work just fine.
As for an input circuit, you can either design your own or perhaps use a small antenna tuner to match the driver transceiver to the Dentron.

Alan,
I have the Manual for the Clipperton-L, I was needing the FL-1 Tuned Input with manual, Or the Installation Instructions with Schematics for the FL-1 Tuned Input Manufactured by Dentron for the Clipperton-L. I'll try Mouser for the Cap's.
I wouldn't even guess where to start designing the circuit, I'm not that up on Electronic's!
Thanks Again,
73s

Unless I am completely off base, the FL-1 is a filter used on some Dentrons to prevent operation on 10 and 11 meters (i.e. a citizens band block).
Many users of the Clipperton L report using a small antenna tuner to match into the input.
The input network on most amplifiers are just a collection of Pi filters to match 50 ohms to the input impedance of the tubes. An antenna tuner will do the same thing, you just have to adjust it for each band.

Hello to All,
I apologize to all that has read the above Post, I've had the FL-1 Filter on my mind all day and by mistake typed it into the post, I meant to Post a request for help finding the CM-2 Tuned Input for the Dentron Clipperton-L Amplifier, If anyone can help with the Input itself or the Manual or copy of the Manual, Please let me know. I'll gladly pay the copying cost and the cost for postage!
Again I apologize for the mistake.
Thanks,
73s

A manual for the Dentron CM 1 tuned input is available at

http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/dentron/cm1/

It is amazing what a little Google here and Yahoo there will turn up.
