JUST WANTED TO LET ALL KNOW ABOUT THIS GREAT ANTENNA BY TAK-TENNA. I HAVE BEEN MAKING GREAT 20M CONTACTS WITH THIS ANTENNA AND IT WORKS GREAT..BUILDING IT WAS VERY EASY AND TOOK ONLY ABOUT 20-30 MINUTES TOTAL. I DO RECOMEND USING AN ANALYZER AS THIS MAKES TUNING IT TO A CERTAIN FREQ. MINE IS TUNED TO 14.300 AND IT PREFORMS GREAT ON MY BALCONY WHICH IS 3 FEET WIDE AND 36 FEET IN LENGTH..YOU CAN SEE www.tak-tenna.com
ITS WELL WORTH BUYING IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN ANTENNA RESTRICTED AREA THIS IS YOUR ANSWER..TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES..
HAPPY DX-ING RICK (KD4HGR)

Now take your keyboard somewhere and have the caps lock key fixed.
Unless you are deliberately shouting ...

Well, let's get on 20m and compare your signal to others from your part of Florida, which should be pretty easy since there's a lot of hams in your area.
Name a time and frequency, and I'll try to make it!

I own the Tak-Tenna 40 meter Multi-Bander and yes it does a very nice job,
I have 3 HF antennas up 1st G5RV (204'), 2nd Hustler 6BTV with 17 meter coil,
3rd Tak-Tenna 40 meter Multi-Bander.
I was some what shocked how good the antenna worked using a IC-7000 w/AT-7000 tuner.

Tom

I have an unused 120 feet of RG213 which runs the length of my backyard fence. Made a lot of local contacts on it. I can work anyone I hear! email me for plans.

That is still pretty big to be putting inside an appartment unless you have one of those two story condo dwellings.
And too, the Mrs might have something to say having something that big where she lives--UNLESS perhaps you can turn it into a nice modern art floor lamp.

I bet a dipole of 30 gauge wire (invisible!) would outperform it by at least a couple of S-units, and cost just a few dollars. Why pay so much for SO little (performance-wise)?
Make yourself a REAL antenna and you will be much happier. Then put the savings somewhere more useful.

If I was new to the hobby, reading Rick's posting would be very encouraging. How great it is to learn that a small, simple antenna has allowed him to get on the air and make contacts and that one does not need a big tower to have fun on HF.
If I was a new ham reading some of the comments following Rick's post, wow!, I think I'd take up basket weaving instead.
LOL!

I am with you Anthony. I found some want to be critical, or not be at all.
