Hey, if it worked for Alan Fry when he begged customers to visit his new electronics supermarket in the middle of Silicon Valley in 1981, it could still work today.
For those that don't know the Fry's Electronics story, Alan Fry and his brothers and sisters owned a family grocery chain in the SF Bay area until the late 1970's when they sold out to A&P.
Alan started his first store selling computer parts, ICs and other discrete components in Sunnyvale, CA, in 1981, using a grocery store format. The rest is history.
Yes, we need to advertise that HR is not dead. In spite of CC&Rs, aging population of active hams, etc. If the EMCOMM service mantra is done properly, not emphacizing HTs and orange vests, it can be a powerful enticement.
Congrats to the bratsellers. BTW, why no "knocks" and "Polish" as well? Heck, throw in a hot link or two. That way everybody gets what they might want.
