Please help figure out what this thing is and if you have more questions see email addres at bottom.
recently i have aquired what seems to be a 50ft gin pole (you know that thing to put the really big tower up with) but have no clue as to how this particular gin pole works. Orif i am even missing parts. i have used the type that clamps to tower before so the concept is not new to me.
now what this thing is.
all parts are mil. spec. (OD) green. veitnam era?
well the poles are roughly 5ft long x 4 in dia. includeing sockets on each end so they all fit in each other. and come in a five pack that all fits neatly together in the carrying case(s).
The poles are stamped and read as follows
"Henry Products Co.
mast section AB332/6"
now i also have the base plate the that goes with these poles. I have figured that one side is a ginpole and the a mast by the stamping that says as such on this 'swivel joint' is the best way that i could describe. the joint can rotate 360 degrees on base plate via bolt er thrust bearing and has 2 clamp thingies to hold it from truning in place. it can pivot in about every direction about 90 degrees. I would say it that would be on the axis of x, y, and z for math people out there.
the base plate is about the size of a 17in. monitor maybe a bit bigger. It has four holes in it and the edges are beveled at aboiut 45 degrees and about 2in. wide. it is labeled "caution: do not erect near electrical lines" with a very faded name plate. At the appropiate areas it has the varing degree marks like 0, 90, 180, 270, and 360. Yes the base plate and swivel joint are connected.
somewhere on either item(s) it reads
guytronics sc-d-66323 or sc-d-68323 parts of the hand stamping were poorly done
everything is made of steel. the poles seem to very thick walls. well thats all i got in this deal just a base plate and ALOT of poles/mast pipe.
if you have any idea of what this thing is or how to use it. it would be nice to know how to put it together properly too :)
please please email or post a reply,
