I have my Dad's NC-240-D in my shack. It's in near pristine (original) cosmetic condition and is in perfect working condition. The outboard speaker enclosure is in similar cosmetic and working condition.
Does anyone have any idea who or where I can get an appraisal of it for insurance purposes?
Thanks.
Everett

I have a pristine 240D with the speaker. Ebay completed auctions would be one possibility to establish value. On the other hand I have seen excellent 280D's with matching speaker priced between $400-600.
FYI,

I recently bought a mint condition NC-2-40D on E-bay for $227 plus shipping. The matching speaker cost another $60 or so.
I used one of these as a new ham in 1958 - not the most stable ham receiver in the world, and had no 15M band (I worked 15M novice using the general coverage band - even less stable). Great for AM (which I never worked) and general coverage.
It IS, however, a very interesting and eminently collectible item.
