i always call QRL a couple of times after first listening for a minute . If no one answers i go ahead with my call.
being qrp sometimes other stations using the frequency may not of heard my call QRL.
a couple of times after sending a call i have been asked to qsy very quickly.
Whats the correct way to respond to this? do i simply not call again and find another frequency or is there a responce from me. I should imagine plain not tx'ing again but im not sure if there should be a responce like ok sorry but obveously very short.

My normal response is a quick "Thanks" or "I'm QSY"." No particular reason, other than a small contribution to encouragement of polite operating, and it alerts anyone who was just about answer your call who may or may not be able to hear the other station's request.

I send a dit or two. If someone is in another QSO, the least I send, the better. I do want to acknowledge their answer, too.

OK, you listen and don't hear anything at all.
You send QRL a couple of times and don't get a response.
You then and ONLY THEN send you call sign and THAT is when they respond to ask you to change freqs??????
If that is true then that seems a bit odd and maybe even inconsiderate to me.
