I don't know if this is the best forum for this question but figured I would try. I just picked up a Begali Magnetic Professional (yes, it is a beautiful piece of work). I want to get some "off the air" time with it to get used to the feel and set up for my tastes. Does anyone know if there is a way to set the electronic keyer on the Pro III to allow "practice" without transmitting? Turning the RF power control fully counterclockwise still transmits 5 watts. I didn't see anything in the manual. Do I just need to run it into a dummy load? Thanks in advance for any ideas. TU and 73 Warren

Set the QSK to off. QSK is normally set to Full, Semi, or Off. If it is Off then you can use the keyer and the the side-tone monitor will be heard in the speaker or headphones.
