Vibroplex Vari-Speed Reply
by KK4E on July 7, 2009 Mail this to a friend!
I spoke to the guys from Vibroplex at Dayton regarding the Vari-Speed; according to them, the Vari-Speed is not available since the maker is sick and is unable to produce them.

I bought a new Original Deluxe Bug at Dayton as a present to myself (another story) and need to tame the sucker.

Is someone with a Vari-Speed for an Original Bug (i.e., the round arm Vari-Speed and not the flat arm for the Champion & Lightining) willing to let me borrow one for a day to make some measurements so that I can make one for myself? I'd only need it for a day, and I'll gladly pay postage/insurance both ways.

Thanks,
Danny

I measured mine. If you like, I can send you a drawing. If you are in a hurry, I can scan it and email.

Hi Mike!

GREAT! It'd be fantastic if you could send me your drawing/measurements. Snail mail or a scan via email is fine, no rush, at your convenience.

Thanks and 73,
Danny

Danny,

This is off topic but have you had any luck getting wiring information for that Honeywell rate gyro? I just bought myself one from Electronics Goldmine and I'd really like some information on it.

Thanks,

Is the "Extendadot" suitable as a substitute for the Vari-Speed?

See reviews at:

which gives the maker's Web address.

Yes it is, and quite a bit cheaper than the Varispeed, too.
