- sometimes it seems that Customer Service has fallen by the wayside with the advent of the Internet, on-line ordering, and the maze of voice-mail Hell...
- and many of us might agree that today it's the rare vendor who expresses more than a modicum of concern for repeat business from new customers...
- from my recent experience, Burghardt *is* that rare business that practices a higher standard of service...
- i ordered a part for an HT and a motorized antenna, along with an order for a dual-band antenna... unfortunately, the dual-band antenna i recv'd did not have the requisite connector...
- so i emailed Burghardt about the problem...
- did Burghardt respond the same day? Yes.
- did Burghardt make me ship the antenna back? No.
- did Burghardt send me a replacement antenna gratis? Yes.
Now ask yourself: How many ham radio vendors or businesses would exhibit this type of customer service?
My answer: Only one - Burghardt Amateur Center!
Kudos to Jim, W0MJY...
- did

This company is a sore spot for me. I called him up and was going to order a Brand new Icom 746 Pro years back. He said he had a used one that had the diode mod that you could not tell the difference from a brand new one. So I get my like brand new radio, it has a gash in the left hand side near the top. He offered to take it back, but I already spent the money on shipping then to pay shipping back and shipping again on a new radio? I have kept it as a lesson learned. If anyone wants to see the gash, I can take a picture and email it to you of this "you can't tell the difference between it and a brand new radio."

"he offered to take it back". So what is the problem??? You buy a radio, it has a problem and you're too cheap to pay the shipping to send it back, then keep it and complain about the guy.
