Hendrick QRP Kits - I GIVE UP!!! Reply
by KI4FIA on September 17, 2007 Mail this to a friend!
On 5/8/2008 I ordered a 20 meter QRP kit from their website. The website said it would take 2 weeks before the order would be shipped.

On 6/16 I emailed Hendrick (KI6DS) and asked where my order was as I didn't receive anything. He responded thatit was shipped 3 weeks ago. He asked for my address again and said a new kit would be shipped on Monday 6/18.

On 6/30 I emailed Hendrick as I still hadn't received anything. He asked for my address again and said a new kit would be shipped on Monday 7/2.

On 7/8 I emailed Hendrick as I still hadn't received anything. This time he said that my order 'fell between the cracks' he was sorry and was sending me a refund.

On 9/2 I emailed Hendrick as I still hadn't received anything. He said he was sorry and was sending refund and a free kit.

After 4 months of nothing I filed a complaint with the BBB of which Hendrick has yet to respond to the BBB about.

Today I again emailed Hendrick simply asking for a refund and all I get back was a very sarcastic letter saying how I cost him so much money. He has $25.00 of my money and here 4 1/2months later I have no kit, can't get any tracking numbers not even proof anything was ever shipped to me.

I have all original emails I wrote and received from Hendrick incase I needed to prove my above statements.

I hope others have had better luck with Hendrick than I have.

Having been in business, I know enough about these types of letters to know that there are two sides to this issues. KI4FIA might be leaving something important out?

Wow. $25 bucks. I hope you don't suffer too long. I know, I know, its the damn principal of the damn thing. But if thats all you get ripped off for in life, consider yourself lucky.

Personally, I'll bet Hendricks has a whole other story. But like any good company, they will take the high road because you can't win an fight with a skunk.

Just my opinion. Bill P.

I would have been happy if at least I was giving a tracking number to prove they shipped the orginal kit. But I can't get a tracking number for the original order or the replacement order he claimed was shipped.....

Where do hams get this idea everything is shipped UPS?????
It would be cheaper for this fella to ship by USPS first class mail. Yeh, right. The BBB has real teeth. Grrrrrr. If this was really fruad, why not go to the USPS? Or go to your credit card company and ask for a charge back? Just like I said, there is more to this story than the customer is telling us all.

Just my opinion. Bill P.

I never said it was shipped UPS. When shipping via USPS you can get delivery confirmation, that will provide a delivery confirmation number. You can't track via a delivery confirmation number however there is proof the item was shipped. Most items I've ordered online that were shipped USPS were shipped with delivery confirmation numbers.

Granted, one might want to save money and not spend the extra $0.50 for delivery confirmation however if I shipped and the order was lost I sure would get confirmation for the replacement order. I was told Hendrick shipped my order twice.

Yes the BBB has no teeth. However the State Attorney General’s office does as well as the Dos Palos, CA Police department. And yes both agencies will get involved on a $25.00 order.

I could also go to my own county and file a small claims case in which I can sue for 3 times the lost amount ($75.00) plus court costs ($80.00) and I would win as I don’t think Hendrick would travel to Florida for the case.

Why I didn’t dispute the charge is because Hendrick kept saying he was shipping a new kit, then a refund. So much time has passed due to the promises that I no longer have the right to dispute the charge.

I’m not trying to be hard nosed about it but lets face it, if you ordered something in May and never received it by September you would be mad too. Especially when you were told that missing order would be replaced, then once told ‘sorry your order fell between the cracks’, then old a refund would be sent but you never receive anything…..

Are you friends of Hendrick? You seem to be sticking up for him….out of many negative posts I’ve seen regarding companies I’ve never seen the victim get beat up like this….

So you are going to spend more than $25 in time & expenses in order to collect $25. Smart(?) You are the reason why so many *Made in USA* business's have quit and why everything is from China. Your goal is clear-to harm the business. You are really not that concrened about getting your money back. It's about revenge.

If you really wanted your money back, you have up to a full year to file a dispute with your credit card bank. It helps you to read the fine print.

Like I said there is something more going on here. Vengence, revenge, disgruntled employee, who knows.

Just my opinion, Bill P.

You must be a shill for Hendrick.

You do not have a full year to dispute a charge. Depending on the issuing bank you have 60-90 days in most cases.

I don't just throw money into the wind, if you order something you would expect to get it. If he just took the money an run without ever responding I probably would have given up. But Since he told me that a kit or refund was sent 3 times during a 4 1/2 month period and kept stringing me on then your are right. It is Vengence, revenge or other words you want to use. I'm not the bad one here, I paid from goods which I never received.

As proven on the BBB website he didn't respond to there complaint yet either.

I"ve wasted more time in responding to you than getting my money back....you've added nothing to the conversation.....other than keep Hendrick's name in the spotlight.

Not a schill. Just a very satisfied customer who hasn't had one problem, and my orders arrive within two days.

Just because you post something to the BBB doesn't necessarily make it so. It could be an alibi to cover your own tracks. What if you really did get the kit? What if you really got two kits? And now you want the money back so you can have a two free kits? It's happened before. Just look at the current homepage topic about paypal. Lots of horror stories there.

Sounds to me like it is time for you to visit Hendrick QRP Kits in person to either 1) get your refund, or 2) get the kit you ordered. If you are not willing, for whatever reason, to do this, drop the subject and move on.

Life is too short to dwell on these things. Consider yourself lucky to have only lost $24, according to your BBB compalint, not the $25 you state here.

If losing $24 to Hendricks QRP Kits is the worst thing that's happened to you, you're doing pretty damn good.
