This round up is scheduled for 5/31 to 6/1.
I have a niece and nephew who are interested in ham radio and got a kick out of the Kids Day.
I would like to keep score and find a time when this Kids roundup is most active, so the kids can get a good score and have some fun.
Anyone work this in previous years? Any suggestions?

For more information visit www.ki3ds.org
Kids Roundup is an annual event. You can read all about it on their web site. My son participated in 2007 and 2006 and won top score in the U category and top score in Florida. You can see his picture on the web site.
It was too bad he missed it this year because he was at camp. The kids wil have alot of fun to participate and even more fun if you submit their logs and possibly win.

Kids Roundup is GREAT!! We will be in this one at this QTH every year from now on!!
My 10 year old, Alicia won second place in her U(unlicensed) category this year, it was a lot of fun, it was a new experience for me to share ham radio in my family.
I would highly recommend that anyone with kids fire up the rig and put them in the operators position for this very special contest. I have 3 kids, Alicia, the middle child, has always been somewhat interested in my radios so it wasn't hard at all to convince her to compete. At first I suggested a multi-op venture with all 3, but the other 2 were more interested in cartoons than ham radio, but when they saw Alicia pressing buttons on the Pro II and heard the DVR transmitting her voice, the radio suddenly became a LOT more interesting to them, I am sure there will be a line at the rig (BEHIND Alicia ;-)) next year!
She had a pretty big pileup going for a while and handled it pretty well for a 1st timer. I would like the thank all the guys and gals who worked her, and send a special thanks to those who e-mailed and snail mailed words of encouragement to her, she really appreciated that!
