New to contesting -
I see in the rules for the SSB contest this weekend for the categories of Unlimited and School club "Spotting assistance and Skimmer use is allowed". Can someone explain about these to me?
And while here - the categories of QRP, low power, and high power are understood, but what constitutes "unlimited"?
thx!

"Spotting assistance" usually refers to using the DX-Cluster network or a comparable way of receiving information that could help your score (like informations about unusual band openings on 10m, etc).
"CW Skimmer" is a software by VE3NEA which allows to decode a lot of CW signals simultaneously, usually with a wideband SDR receiver. Using such help is also widely considered as "assisted" now, although no outside help is required to use it. It has no relevance for SSB though.
