FL 101 Filter Reply

This really does not pertain to contesting-but I have a FL 101 250 khz cw filter installed in my Icom 737 A and I was wondering if these crystals can go bad. I have been noticing that the signal changes when I engage the filter compared to what it use too. I can not zero in on a signal with the filter in. It wipes out the signals. Also the audio is different from what it was in the past when I use the filter. I was just wondering if these filters are known to go bad over time and use before I buy another FL 101 filter. I have not contacted Icom yet about this issue. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks john
