I got through on 80M CW this morning at 1100UTC.
The QRM on the DX's frequency was intense but not at all malicious. Basically, every 30 seconds somebody new would tune up on top of the DX or start calling on the DX's frequency, and they would be responded to with a cacaphony of "UP UP" and some less polite remarks.
I'm pretty sure that K4M's op had to call me at least twice, maybe three times before I could hear him through all that. But he did have the patience to work it through. Thanks!
My guesstimate, based solely on the rate at which lids were tuning up on top of K4M, is that a dozen new stateside stations were entering the pileup every minute, yet K4M's rate was way less than one a minute - I'm guessing due to all the QRM. Even when K4M was hearing calls he would have to call back several times before the QSO was completed.

Wow, here I am talking about the 80M pileup, and then a flood of Eham website error messages turns me into the QRM on this bulletin board :-(.

I only worked them on Topband, but I'm happy with that :-)
They were rockin and rollin down there... I worked them nearly an hour before their sunset and they actually heard me once when I couldn't hear them as they went into a fade, so they had great ears.
I had to wait for the next QSB peak to actually log them.
I think their 160m antenna blew down, so that's too bad, but they gave me a new one down there.

Congrats on topband. I got my 160m Q at about the same time - definitely in daylight on Midway. If you're only gonna get one Q, that's the band to do it on!
By all accounts they went QRT around 1600z or so today. My OQRS request went out this morning for all 15 slots worked. Disappointed that I couldn't hear 'em on 60, 10 and 12, but I popped 'em everywhere else so no regrets.
Bring on Chesterfield!

Yeah I've got Midway confirmed on 20 from way back and worked on a couple other bands. I would have done the band fill thing but don't have time at the moment and so I work on low bands mostly.
"Bring on Chesterfield! "
Yeah! That one will be an all time new...
I'd really like to work an all time new on 160 first, that would be real fun... but it's pretty risky to wait for it if a higher band Q is available ;-)
Only all time new one I've worked on 80m is "new St. Barts" FJ worked first on 75m SSB. Didn't feel like it counted though ;-)

I only have Chesterfield on one band/mode (TX0AT from October 2002 on 20 Phone), so I'm waiting with baited breath for this one. I know with condx as they are I won't get 'em across the board but I'll be happy as a clam with 3 or 4 bands plus CW and RTTY if possible.
I just did the propagation charts, however, and it doesn't look too great for the East Coast. We get a small 20m window in the mid-morning (our time) and a little bit bigger window mid-to-late afternoon on 17 and 15 - plus from about 2-7am on 40/80. The down-side is we share our 20m opening with Italy and environs, with equally-strong signals and 40m is shared with Japan for much of our overnight.
The good news is that our 15 and 17m windows don't overlap with any part of Europe or Japan, and if the charts can be believed, there's a shot at 12 and maybe even 10 with our current solar numbers. Let's keep all appendages firmly intertwined!
