Anyone know of any future activity coming from HV0A anytime soon? Or does Francesco operate when time/life/the Vatican/or all of the above permit?

Also, anyone know if TY1MS will be putting their log search on their web site? During the actual expedition, there was a message stating they were unable too. Now that it's over, I am curious to know if they will be doing so.

Vince, I hope you duped TY1MS on at least one band. I went ahead and duped them on 20m SSB and CW. I also worked them on 15, but did not attempt a dupe. I normally do NOT dupe, and dont think its very good ham spirit to do that, but I need Benin for an all time new one, and kinda like the old WFWL, I like the other one: BSTS (Better Safe than Sorry) Cant give you any info on the Vatican station. I have HV0A as well as another station from there confirmed, so they dont attract my attention much. 73, Gene

HV0A seems to have worked on a schedule - maybe a couple times a year they seem to activate.

Vince,

The same group was in Liberia in 2007 (5L1MS). There is an active log search on their web page for that operation. I don't think it it was up until after the end of the operation...Maybe the same will hold true with Benin...

Vince,

Regarding TY1MS-- SM4DHF includes TY1MS in his list of "coming logs" to be included in his very extensive logsearch website: http://www.sm4dhf.com/search.shtml

REPLY: Gene. I would have if I could have. I was only able to hear them on 20 CW. On ssb, all I heard were the people calling them. Why do you say this???

REPLY: Cool. I will keep my eyes pealed. I am under the impression that in such a country like Benin, the technology was not altogether together.

REPLY: Now this is a site I am going to have to bookmark. Many thanks to all!

Vince.. You said "Gene. I would have if I could have. I was only able to hear them on 20 CW. On ssb, all I heard were the people calling them. Why do you say this???"

I only said it because I hope you worked them, and if you were, maybe unsure of your QSO, that you worked them again for an insurance Q. And I agree, they were a bit easier on CW. Hope we both show up in their log, if/when it gets posted. 73, Gene

Oh yeah, I am 100% sure. In fact, after struggling a bit with my puney signal regarding hearing the call sign, he finally got it an repeated it twice, so there is no doubt in my mind that the Q is good. Good thing, cauz like I said, all I heard up in SSB land is the guys calling them. Like they were calling/talking to nobody. :-(
