I was out doing a few walking laps in the sunshine and warmth (finally) last evening at a local school's track, and whilest getting my exercise for the day, I had my cute little Grundig Mini 300 World Band Receiver (the size of a pack of cigarettes) with me.
Tuned to the Voice of Russia World Service (yes, they are still on the shortwave air, hard to believe, I know) while walking, a story came on their news about Greenland. Greenland is reportedly very close to breaking dependency ties with Denmark, and becoming an autonomus state. The story even mentioned that Greenland will have it's own offical (induit) language as opposed to Danish once this happens.
Certianly interesting news as this may mean the OX prefix will soon be history???? Hmmm. Looks like I'll have to print up yet another DXCC list, if and when OX breaks from OZ. What say yinz to this???
And anyone know the status of Kosovo with regard to DXCC???? That one has been out there for a while, hasn't it?

Interesting. Right now Greenland's DXCC status is based on its being on the U.S. list of Dependencies and Areas of Special Sovreignty. My guess is that it will become a deleted entity and then once they become a United Nations Member State they'll be #339. They were a tough catch on 160 meters, that's for sure!
Kosovo is not acceptable for DXCC yet and won't be until the United Nations recognizes them as a member state (unlikely, since Russia can and will veto it).

Yup.
You'll have to change your prefix listing of DXCC countries.
However Greenland won't be deleted, like Goa or Tibet or The Canal Zone or East Germany. It will simply have a new prefix, like Georgia.
