As if this DX season hasn't had enough highlights already, soon we will have the opportunity for another rare one. ZY0T will be QRV according to their website from OCT 17-21, 2009. Here is the link:

Could be a rock em, sock em brawl, with lots of EU/NA competition. On the good side, the QRM rats will have to decide which DXpedition to interfere with. My concern is that some of them may be developing SO2R capability. New aspect of the hobby.

I'm looking forward to a few more bandfills here. I wasn't on the WARC bands or CW when PW0T was up in 2002. I worked a small operation there on 17 CW in '06 but I still need Trindade on 12, 30, 40, 80 and 160. Hope they brought some good low-band toys!

That URL is working for me. Just Google them, you'll find a link. They are on 15M CW right now. I broke through at 13:36, 10/17/09. Great op, still mostly working EU but picking up NA. By late morning or early afternoon, if you need this one you will soon have it. What a month for new ones, this was #293 for me.

Snagged em this afternoon on 15 SSB. Not Easy was an understatement. As on CW, working mostly EAs and EU it seemed. That is #267 for me! 73, Gene

Heard them on 20 today but loads of QRM.

They're using a long wire and supposedly will have a beam delivered to them soon...

Well I managed to get them in the log on 40 CW tonight (this morning). Maybe I'll get a few more band fills but they are only doing 4 days of operation.

Sigh. Yet *another* operation to an extremely rare entity with operators who need years more experience in less-demanding roles. They seem OK on phone but on CW it's painful. One Q per minute if they're lucky.

I worked them on 80m CW just before 01z; it clearly wasn't G3SXW on the key, but I thought the op did ok given the demand, QSB, and QRM.

Everybody's got to start somewhere...

73,

Dave, AA6YQ
