PSK31 and Kenwood TS-930 Phone Patch's Reply

Hi..just getting into this crazy world of PSK31. Looks like fun. Just wondered if anyone is using one of these radios, utilizing the phone patch in and out ports?

I seem to be able to rec. with no problem, but transmitting seems to give the radio fits. Would appreciate any input to WA1ZLV@ARRL.NET.

Hello Dan, I had a 940 for a while and used the patch in and out jacks as well. I used a commercial interface. I had a problem with the rig going nuts too. It turned out to be rf causing the problem. My shack is on the 2nd floor and the antenna was quite close to the rig due to being mounted on the chimney. It was actually the computer that was being effected, not the rig. Once I moved the antenna to the backyard about 50ft. away from the house, I had no further problems. Computers are apparently very sensitive to r.f. fields. Don't know if this pertains to your problem but the info is better than nothin'. Good luck, Max
