Just installed HRD on new laptop computer running MS Windows XP Pro.
Commercial interface cable from db9 to data connection on ICOM rig. Rig set for standard mode.
Error message when I try to connect with HRD. "Cannot connect. Says make sure radio is on and not in memeory mode." That is done. Tried rebooting computer leaving radio turned on. No joy. Used auto port and auto speed selections in HRD to no avail.
What do I do now?

Sorry you are having a problem with Ham Radio Deluxe.
I think your problem is the address of the rigcontrol.
The ProII/ProIII uses address 56 and HRD needs to use the same address. I think it is defaulting to the address for the PRO.
When you start up HRD, and it tries to do the connect look at the address it is using. It should be on the connect screen. Then look at the address in your PROII and see if they are different. They have to be the same.
