hello, i need some help with my psk 31 set up. i have been getting a distorted sound when transmitting on psk. i dont know if it is a problem with my rig or with the computer. i have tried adjusting my outputs as far as drive on the kenwood 570d and also on my laptop. i have recieved a report from another psk station that my signal has a funny sound to it. t5hank you for any help.......nk8a...dave

It could be a variety of things. Much more information is needed to help you with the problem.
Has anyone given you an IMD report? If so what was it?
What PSK software are you using?
Describe the interface between the rig and the computer.
To what ports are you feeding the audio to and from the rig?
Which port on the sound card are you using for input and output? Mic or line-in for audio input? Speaker or line-out for output?
What type of rig are you using?
What are the volume setting on Windows
Do you see any deflection on the ALC meter when you transmit?

This is just a wild guess without a lot more information but "funny sound" makes me think that it could be RF getting back into your audio. Normal levels of overdrive of the rig will cause poor IMD readings but is not usually so severe as to be detectable by the human ear.
