Is it possible to get a data cable for this rig that can use the microphone plug.
I want to get into data modes such as PSK31, and SSTV. But can't quite afford at rig just yet.
Thanks Karl [M(W)6CSS]

Its unlikely, this is a very old rig. However it would be a simple matter to make your own, provided you can find the correct mic plug
Im looking to do just this myself in order to run JT65 and WSPR, if the rig is stable enough.
Another option is to add a suitable socket or trailing lead, but this means soldering inside the radio, and the inside of a FT-290mk1 is not for the faint hearted!
If you find a good source of the correct mic plugs let me know!
