Hi everyone,
I'm trying to use hamscope to send CW through an interface that I use for PSK. I am picking up CW my CW signal through a shortwave reciever. The radio is in USB-D mode while sending. Is this working or am I not setting it up correctly?
Thanks,
Ryan K2CUB

You're keying your rig and sending a single audio tone on SSB. This creates a carrier, offset from your indicated frequency by the audio frequency of the tone.
Lots of older rigs did just this to send CW. The Heathkit HW-101 comes to mind.
Make sure your audio tone is clean and your rig is being driven with minimal ALC, or you won't be making any friends on nearby frequencies.
You didn't say what rig you have, so I can't advise on how to tune it to be able to contact someone on the same frequency as you're transmitting. You will probably need to use RIT, or split mode, or some such.

Whoops, you DID say, in your header; sorry.
Lessee, the '703 is a lot like the '706 ... just use the RIT.
Tell me again why you're doing this? It seems awfully convoluted. Why not just send with a key or paddles? Or the button on the mic (supposing that radio has the function).
Or use a com port on the PC, and drive the keying line with a transistor.

"I doing this just to see if it would work."
That's the best reason!!
Yes, as you've seen, it does work - and in fact can work well. But you'll have to use your RIT (or split mode) to work someone else.
