My neighbor 2 houses down from me 200 feet is complaining about my 10 meter radio bleedover. What filter would you guys recomend.

What exactly is "bleed over"? Is it some type of interference to something? I've never heard that word before.

Describe the situation... what rig, power, and antenna are you using, and what is he detecting the signal with??? -Mike.

It might be imd or rf overload or just plain splatter but bleedover is definitely just for 11 meters or the operating room.

I suspect he's complaining about his television or stereo. Possibly his telephone. The basic beginning is a low-pass filter on your output. Then, you start treating his equipment, actually the various power, antenna, and speaker leads to it. Here's a basic article on non-invasive approaches that usually work. http://www.antennex.com/shack/Dec99/beads.htm Another is represented here: http://www.iceradioproducts.com/filtersrf2.html There are many other resources on the 'Net and from ARRL. Hopefully, you have a neighbor who simply wants to enjoy his stuff without interference and will be satisfied with your efforts. Not all are. Some just want to complain. Some will forever blame every deficiency on you. Make if clear that it's a common problem because for many years manufacturers of home entertainment equipment have made little effort to avoid these problems, and you're really helping him make up for their neglect. Also, that it is often not a matter of finding one point and fixing it there but more often a matter of plugging one hole after another until it clears up.

Thanks for all the replies and advice.The interferance he complains of is I am comming over his tv stereo and phones. I am running a 2950 10 meter rig with about 200 watts. What low band pass filter and who makes the best one and where can i get it.I looked at aes ham radio they had one but its $95.00 . There wasnt any explanation on the filter or picture. Is this the only kind and i dont want to throw 100 dollars at this unless it works. Again thanks for the advice and help.My neighbor is the really nice kind and willing to get along lucky me..

How in the world are you getting 200w out of a 2950? If you are using an amp, what type is it? If it's a cb type amp then thats probably your trouble.
