RE: Emergency Communication Reply

Tim,

When we first advertised the session, there was a concern that the room would quickly fill with interested non-members, and that our own personnel who needed to take the training wouldn't be able to get in. That's why we wanted to limit the number of "audit" seats.

At present it appears that many people are waiting until the last minute to register and we aren't close to filling the room.

I am the lead instructor and was the primary instigator to change our organization policy to open training sessions to anyone and I extend my personal invitation for you to attend.

It was never our intention to exclude anyone, we were only concerned about room capacity and a desire that our own members who need to get the training should have first crack at the seats.

Additional training sessions are in the planning stages for the Tidewater area (probably Hampton) and Southwest (either Roanoke or Virginia Tech at Blackburg).

Thank you for the invitation and I will definitely be there. I do understand that space in any course is limited, however I have read in many different forums that RACES is having trouble geting particpants. Perhaps being new to this I'm starting in the wrong place, but the wording of your registration page did make me feel that you weren't interested in new people attending. I'm glad to hear that I misinterpreted that.

Tim.
