Mid Atlantic Emergency Net - Time Change to 2100 Reply
by KE4SKY on January 8, 2004 Mail this to a friend!
Effective starting the next net session on January 21, 2004, the Mid Atlantic Emergency Net will be called ONE HOUR LATER.

This time change is permanent. The Mid Atlantic Emergency Net NOW meets on the first and third Wednesdays of every month at 2100 hours Eastern time on 5330.5 USB. The net has no organizational affiliation. Anyone from anywhere is welcome to check in. Net control rotates through the first through 4th call regions, plus the 8th. Additional net control volunteers are welcome.

The reason for the time change is to enable better gray-line conditions for stations in the plains and mid-western states who've heard about the net and want to check in. The time change will also enable some Easterners with family obligations to check in and still keep peace with the XYL.

In the 60Meters_EmCom Yahoo group we've been discussing whether or not the Mid Atlantic Emergency Net time should be changed back to 2000 hours Eastern Time.

We are also considering running the net only once monthly to enable a vehicle for brief regional communication checks along the East Coast.

Anyone who would like to comment is welcome to do so here, or to post to the yahoo group.

The net has been changed to ONCE MONTHLY on the FIRST WEDNESDAY of the month, at 2000 hours Eastern time. The primary net frequency remains at 5330.5, and 5346.5 is the alternate if 330 is noisy or busy.
