RACES badges, pins, signs, etc. Reply

I'm looking for sources of RACES badges, pins, patches, and signs. I'm particularly interested in full-color lapel pins and larger metal/enamel badges suitable for pinning onto a jacket or hat.

Please send me any links to sources you may have! (I already have The SignMan, so you can leave that out!)

Thanks to all.

One idea that we use in Southern New Jersey is half sized license plates for the front of our personal vehicles similar to the ones volunteer fire fighters use. They are red lettering on white Scotchlite background and just have the words "Emergency Management Communications".

Since the goal of the plates is to allow ARES/RACES/Skywarn members to be passed through checkpoints in an emergency, they quite deliberately do not say RACES, ARES, Skywarn, Ham radio or anything else that might confuse the police officer at a checkpoint. They also do not have county name so that folks engaged in mutual aid assignements don't get held up.

We get them from a local fire fighter supply shop at about $8.00 each in quantities of fifty. I'm sure you could have similar ones made up locally.

http://www.tagme-engraving.com/badges_small.htm has a good selection of ID tags.

Mandy and her husband are Hams and run the business from their house without the product looking home made. They also have a process known as sublimation that allows the use of any logo that you have written permission to use.

I have two "normal" (engraved) badges and two sublimated badges. All are excellent quality and the price is well within reason.

Gee whiz, where can I get:

1) Badges;
2) Orange vests;
3) 2' X 3' magnetic signs for the side of my car;
4) a blue light for the dash; and
5) my head examined for being in the same room as you guys.
