Eneloop batteries in HT? Reply
by CERTNEAL on November 3, 2009 Mail this to a friend!
These are the new type of rechargeable batteries that hold their charge. Does anybody know if they can safely be used in a Yaesu HT, mine is a FT-60r. I know the manual says no rechargeables but these are similar to alkaline, and I wouldn't recharge it in the battery case.

Anybody know?
Thanks!

They will work fine. I use the exact same ones in my ft-60r and have had no issues. If I remember correctly the manual states not to recharge them in the ht but using them is no problem at all. I have been doing so for well over a year and have not had any problems at all. I just charge them in the stand alone charger that came with the batteries.
