The DC H10-76 headset probably has a military dynamic 5 ohm mike element on it for use in helicopters. (M-87/AIC) The earphone impedance is fine for 8 ohms. I just picked up surplus set of H10-76 and replaced the Mike element with a M-7 electret type. (Have to observe polarity) I also bought from FAR circuts a PCB that used a LM324 op amp (Dec 91 QST "a quality desk mike for under $25 dollars) that utilized an electret mic element. Built it all up and packaged it so that by swapping out radio cables,I can use it with Icom, Yaesu or Kenwood radios. I also added a U-94/a/u connector with PTT button. This mil connector had long cable. The 10-76 short cable with U-174 mates with the U-94 long cable. Once gain pot on FAR circuts amp was set getting good reports for headset audio using it with Icom radios. 73's Marv
