Hello all!
I'm just finishing my HBR-11 (Ted Crosby April '63 QST) receiver.

I'm really excited about winding more coils to see how the unit performs on the higher frequency Ham Bands (I've got 80m coils fabricated to date.)
Just had to share my excitement :-)

I'm impressed! It looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. You did a great job.
In reference to your other post, you probably want to check MDS (Minimum Desernable Signal). Turn on the BFO and use a calibrated signal generator to see how many microvolts it takes at the antenna to detect the presence of the signal. You'll probably need an attenuator to get the signal down that low. Generator leakage can also be a problem with inexpensive generators.
You can check the bandwidth at the antenna input in order to avoid problems with loading the IF input. With the AVC off, inject a weak signal and tune the generator + and - for a 3dB drop in received signal.

You did a beautiful job on the front panel. Once you get the dial calibrated, it will be the crowning touch.
Congratulations,

The front panel was laid out in CorelDraw 12 on a PC.
It was then Laser engraved on 0.090" black anodized aluminum.

Thanks all for the kinds words :-)
And thanks for the info on quantitatively assessing the unit's performance.
I’ve received no replies to my query posted on the Elmer’s Forum, so I'm not sure if my query was inappropriate; perhaps this methodology is considered "common knowledge"?
This is all new to me and that's why I love working on this technology, so thanks for the help :-)

Your craftsmanship on the rigs is even more impressive than your very nice website.
Wow!

Most impressive! I love it when homebrew looks professionally done!!
Can you elaborate a bit more on the laser engraving? How did you get that accomplished?
