Well I dug it out of the closet last week after over 10yrs of rest and it fired up like a champ but last night I lost a SK7075 diode so it looks like time for a rebuild. I built this as a culmination of College electronics projects back in the late 80's. A Voltage Variable 100Amp powersupply. Back in the day I could set it at 15Volts and draw 100 amps and only drop a tenth of a volt. Looking at it I can see many places the layout could be cleaned up and made look more professional. The parts can be had off ebay of all places so tonite the journey begins. A New Rectifier is on order and a bunch of LM723's I'll probably get new pass elements too 8X 2N3771. If I can find a deal on the filter caps they will be replaced. Hopefully I won't have to dig into the regulator breadboard, my eyes aren't that good up close anymore. lol Anybody out there "revisit" a major homebrew project a couple decades after it's genesis? I'm looking forward to it....

Ever once in a while, I find good deals on 450V Nippon electric? on eBay.
the last batch I got in were, I think, 330uF.
Current production "lytics are really small, even compared to caps from 10 years ago.

If the pass transistors are still good I doubt that replacing them would be of any benefit to anyone other than the guy sellin' parts.

You don't need 450V filter caps. The voltage is too high which will limit the capacitance. If you lived in PA I'd give you a frew 64,000 mf caps to be used next to the bridge rectifier. You need 3000 mf per amp of current, rule of thumb.
