Am looking for an Article About GE Mobile RF amps

Specifically using/ modifying The Ge Master II PASM or Master Exec, to be driven by a Vhf Portable using 1&1/2 watts to 5 Watts, I know Ive seen this some where, any Help thanks , these amps to be used by new hamms with portables , but With Out Money for stations yet.
As all ways thanks in advance.

You should be able to take just about any of those high band amp boards out of a commercial GE, Motorola, etc. radio, power it up and put a TR switch on it and make a "brick" amp out of it. You could cut the whole PA section off with a Sawzall-type tool, keeping the heatsink fins intact.
I've done it with a VHF marine radio as well.
