The FCC has out done themselves in speed in approving the new question pools for the GROL and Ship Radar Endorsement.(elements 1, 3, and 8) For right now the Cole manager can choose to use the new pools, or the old pools. Of course it will take a little while for the Cole managers to change over to the new pools. You can find out more on this at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_radiotelephone_operator_license

OK Ill Bite... Is there a reason you wanted to post the above on an Amateur Radio web site rather than a GROL web site?

1. There is no such thing as a GROL forum site. 2. Some hams are interested in getting a GROL license.

I have been wondering when the new pools were going to start being used. I am interested in getting my GROL but want to use current study materials.

I've been giving serious thought to getting my GROL, but which test pool to study from?

- The new GROL Plus book won't be out till about September. I think most; if not all of the Cole Mangers will be waiting; till December to give the new question pools exams. After the new GROL guides have been out a while. National Radio Examiners will be waiting till about December to be using the new question pools. Gordon West has finally gotten the new study guide out for the new GROL question pools. The title is "NEW GROL+RADAR Study Manual" It is good only for the new question pools for new FCC Elements 1, 3, and 8 Commercial License Question Pools. It is valid for exams taken after 12/26/2009.
