Hi,
I have a ham radio exam on the 10th of sept so is there any advice that I should be aware of, like what type should I take or what preparation should I know before the exam. am technically planning to get on air on VHF ,UHF, and maybe HF in the future.
Thanks

Take a few of the practice tests. Taking a few of the practices tests the day before you go to take the official test will release some of the nervous feelings everyone gets before being tested. If you can pass a few practice tests with at least a 5 to 10 percent margin of error then you will be OK.
Dont try to be absolutely perfect. A 100$ is not required on the test in order to pass. It is a pass or fail system. Once you get the minimum right everything else is extras. Its OK to miss one or two.
Let the question point you to the answer. In reading the question and the proper answer note if there is someting in the wording of the question itself that strongly points to the proper answer.
Bring at the very least enough money with you for one extra written test. Should you come very close to passing the VEs may have another version of the test on hand to let you try again--but it will require a 2nd testing fee to be paid.
Get to the testing site a little early to fill out the forms and take care of the paper jungle. Then just take a few min to sit back, relax a bit before the test.
This may help you as much as it helped me. When I passed the written test I was going for I always took the next level written test. That way I found out what was on the test so I could see what was on it and develope a study plan accordingly.
The night before the test double check what you are bringing to the test to make sure that you have all the copies of documents, calculator if required, IDs etc that you will need.

I agree, take a lot of practice tests, they will give you an idea of where you need to focus your study efforts.
The online practice tests do a very good job of selecting different groups of questions. When I was studying for my exams, I would try to take 3-4 practice tests a day for about a week before the exam to get into "exam mode." Plus, if you have to study last minute, you won't waste your time going over stuff you already know well.
A 100% isn't necessary to pass, and no one will know/care how you did on your exam. You know what they call the guy who graduated last in medical school? Doctor.
The night before the exam, try to get some sleep and relax. It's really not that bad.
Good luck and let us know how it went!!

"what type should I take or what preparation should I know before the exam."
With all due respect,
If you're asking those questions on the 8th of September and the test session is on the 10th of September, you're probably not ready to take the test.

It's a little late in my reply, but you may still have time to go to the FCC website and get your FRN. That way you don't have to give your social security number at the testing, you can give them your FRN.

I did get an FRN number perhaps because I don't have a social security number!, well you know what I passed the test today, it wasn't that hard.
I guess if you guys didn't mention the practice tests I could've failed, but thanks all I really appreciate it.
