Hi;
I know that this is an amateur forum, but I'm sure many hams also have commercial radio licenses.
I am interested to know what happened to the FCC First Class Radiotelephone license. Is there an equivalent?
I am particularly interested in becoming licensed to work on commercial radio for railroad, or public services (police, fire, etc).
I have been to the FCC web site, but I cannot find anything with their search. It seems so convoluted.
Thanks
FW

The "First Phone" license is no more. It was replaced with the "GROL" (General Radio Operator's License). Try searching for [GROL] and see what pops up.

That should have been "General Radiotelephone Operator's License". Sorry.
It's still "GROL".

Thanks for the info. And sorry it took so long for me to acknowledge the reply.
I've been very busy, and haven't visited this forum in a few weeks.
