Do you QSL?

I was looking through my logs the other day, and noticed that there are quite a few entries that I have not received QSL cards from. Some of them are over 8 years old now, and it leaves me wondering: did they ever get my card and sase that I sent them? Or dont they QSL? Or, should just forget about ever getting one and move on?
So, here are some questions to ponder:
1)Do you QSL
2)If you do, are you the first to send, or wait to receive, then send
3)Do you QSL only if you have available cards
4)Do you use eQSL or other electronic methods
5)Do you only QSL for grids/zones YOU need
6)If you dont QSL, and you receive a card with SASE, what do you do with it?
Thanks and I look forward to the replies.

I use the ARRL LOtW to send/get confirmations and reply with traditional cards if requested. These days I rarely send out QSL cards for confirmations.

Hi Dave. To try to directly answer your question, I'll offer the following:
I personally don't send QSL cards anymore (47 years a ham) unless it is a new DX entity or special event station that I want. Then, I send a card direct with an SASE and a buck or two.
Accordingly, if I receive a card from a ham that I have had a QSO with (across town or across the globe), I figure he wants my card for some reason important to him. So I reply 100% to those requests, regardless of whether they included return postage.
That said, I carry a lot of passion for the traditions of our hobby after these many years and the final courtesy of a QSL card still means something to me. Others have different philosophies. It's whatever works for you.

Terry, WØFM

Oops. Forgot to mention: I personally don't use eQSL.
I still get a thrill out of finding a paper card in my mailbox from halfway around the world with some handwritten notes on it.

I always QSL when requested,it's only fair. One time a JA sent me a qsl direct with a sase, saying how important my qsl was to him. I sent my card right back to him. I've heard all the excuses for not sending cards, from "i can`t afford it" to,"i don`t have the time". My response is,if you can`t qsl don`t qso. (at least when someone wants a card)

I also will QSL, particularly when requested.
I have a couple of dogs that I am thinking about sending with colorful tatoos and my call sign. You know, an airport pick up of the QSL dog. I have this little one and shipping should be cheap for me. Comes with a sweater and pet-carrier. Yaps continually, always reminding one of that contact long-ago.

I will always reply to a card with a card or will just send a card when requested. I appreciate getting a clever card but don't care if I get any particular card. I no longer buy them printed, since I handle so few. I make them up on the computer and constantly fiddle with the design. More cost per card perhaps, but it's no burden. I do have many from my first years up on the wall. Mostly the most interesting designs or odd places.
There are folks who simply don't keep cards or don't QSL at all or have gone to strictly eQSL. If it's the cards you want and don't particularly need confirmation of the contact, just write the non-returns off.
