VX7 6 Meter Antenna Reply

Does anyone know of a decent "stationary" antenna design so I can utilize the 6 meter capabilities of my VX7? Any 300 ohm J-Pole ideas? Any Dipole ideas?

I don't know where in NH Litchfield is, but unless you are in range of some 6m repeaters, the usefulness of the 6m capability of your HT is doubtful. Other than repeaters, there's not a lot of 6m FM activity that I am aware of.

That said, MFJ makes a roll-up 6m J-pole, but a better choice would be the CushCraft AR6.

Thanks Lon. Litchfield is just south of Manchester, NH. There are several repeaters I can "hit" in the area. However, I'm more of a simplex guy and prefer direct contact.

I should also add that the VX7 has an AM mode too.

Good luck with whatever you decide. I have an AR6 and it works very nicely.
