Hi folks,
I need to buy a mobile antenna for 2m/70cm but I have no clue which one. I need an antenna, which is no higher than 16" otherwise it is most likely to get killed by driving in my garage.I already looked at the reviews here @ eham.net, but it doesn't bring me any closer to a decission. do you guys have any suggestions?
Thanx a lot,
73, Kilian KC9AIK

You're cutting it close. Mount it on the trunk instead of the top. If you're driving a pick up, use a stake hole mount.

I would consider this, but the car i am using is build in the style of a Volkswagen Jetta, which has no trunk. Thats the whole problem here.

You can try a magmount or those antennas that go in-between the door. Just my 2 cents, Andrew KG6GOK

Have you considered a whip which folds down ?
I just bought an SBB-4 (2m 70cm), which features a spring-loaded hinge so you can drive in real low!
